The Minnesota Mandolin Orchestra is a community orchestra formed in 1991 to preserve and foster the enjoyment of mandolin music. With 30 musicians playing mandolin, mandola, mandocello, guitar, and bass, their repertoire includes old and new compositions for mandolin ensembles, transcriptions of classical music, and arrangements of popular tunes. They play music of many styles arranged for mandolin orchestra, including transcriptions of classical music, early-1900s mandolin orchestra arrangements, modern compositions for mandolin orchestra, and arrangements of popular tunes.
