Nursery Attendant Position

We’re looking for a loving & nurturing nursery attendant for Sunday mornings and other special events as needed. This person must be at least 16 years old and comfortable working with infants and toddlers. Preferably first aid and CPR certified but not required. Looking for someone to start as soon as possible. Position Overview

The Nursery Attendant provides loving and nurturing care to babies and toddlers during church services and special church related events. 

 

Duties and responsibilities  

  1. Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the church service or special event to prepare the space and gather all supplies needed for curriculum used. 
  1. Become familiar with nursery policies, procedures, curriculum and facilities. 
  1. Greet all parents and children upon arrival. Follow check-in procedures as listed in handbook. 
  1. Provide the very best care for the child, following the nursery policies. 
  1. Change diapers/clothing as necessary, 
  1. Fill out family communication sheet. 
  1. Rock, play, sing to, play music, and read books to babies and toddlers. 
  1. Feed babies when needed or requested by parents/caregivers. 
  1. Put away toys in their proper and safe location. Toys that have been mouthed will be separated in another bin for cleaning. Toys that are broken will be thrown away. 
  1. Wipe down all surfaces with disinfectant wipes and toys sprayed with proper disinfectant spray.   
  1. Make sure the toilet has been flushed, water has been turned off, and all lights are off before leaving. 
  1. Maintain valid CPR/First Aid certification to ensure workplace safety.

Qualifications 

Certificate: 

  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification required within 30 days of hire 

 

Experience: 

  • At least 2-3 years relevant work experience 

 

Working conditions 

This position works in a special environment for children with weekend, evening, and holiday hours.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move 5-10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15lbs. Specific visions abilities required for this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
