Kairos Adult Forum
Kairos is an adult learning series that features a broad range of topics and speakers who can present in-depth knowledge from their area of expertise. Past Kairos topics have included the environment, social justice, political issues, historical analysis, personal experience and travel talks, and much more. Women Read
Women Read meets monthly September through May (except December) on the third Wednesday of the month in Adult Room D from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. It is an opportunity for women to share devotions and discuss a variety of types of books. Faith Explorers Book Group for Men
2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m.The Faith Explorers Book Group for Men meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 8:00 a.m. by Zoom. The group is for men interested in exploring aspects of faith through reading and lively discussion of current faith-based books. Attendance is open to all men interested in doing some significant, stimulating, faith-based reading that can lead to a greater understanding of what it means to be a Christian and to spiritual growth. The group covers a book about every two months with the discussion focused on the questions, concerns and highlights brought by the group participants. The group is coordinated by Gary Anderson and Dave Eckmann.
The first book for fall 2024 is Life after Doom by Brian McLaren. Contact the Incarnation office for more information.
History Book Group for Men
1st and 3rd Tuesdays from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in Bethany Lounge.Come for a discussion of a different history book each month selected by the participants. Anyone interested in a particular subject is welcome to sit in on the discussion even if you have not read the book.
NOVEMBER — “His Excellency: George Washington” by Joseph Ellis. A biography of the most important and perhaps least understood figure in American history, allowing us to comprehend the magnitude of Washington’s accomplishments and the character of his spirit and mind.
DECEMBER — “The Spy and the Traitor: The Greatest Espionage Story of the Cold War” by Ben McIntyre. This story unfolds with the pace and drama that recalls the novels of John le Carré, who says of this book, “The best true spy story I have ever read.”
