The Explosion Big Band, a 17-piece big band led by Doug Haining and Scott Agster, plays a repertoire of rock, swing, and compositions by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Thad Jones, Clare Fischer, Pat Metheny, and others. Doug Haining, sax and clarinet player, has been delighting audiences for over three decades. He performs in pit orchestras in local theaters and leads the Twin Cities Seven, a local swing band. Scott Agster, trombone player, moved to Minneapolis in 2005 to study at the University of Minnesota.
