IGNITE Middle School Ministry IGNITE is the new name for Middle School Ministry at Incarnation. At every baptism we hear Jesus say, "Let your light shine before others that they see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16)." IGNITE Middle School Ministry is designed to help young people in 6th - 8th grades to explore and grow in faith and try out what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Upcoming EventsIGNITE Middle School Ministry is committed to providing the foundation for children to grow in God's grace and love through worship, learning, building relationships, and service. IGNITE is also committed to equipping parents to live out the promises they made that their child's baptism--a promise to help their child know the presence and love of God in their life. If your child is not yet baptized, don't worry--they are absolutely welcome to participate in all of these opportunities, although baptism is necessary before being confirmed. High Hopes Pizza Fundraiser Here is a fun and creative way to help pay for summer camps. There was an information meeting on February 7. Pizza Making Day is April 4 at Christ Lutheran in Blaine. Pizzas will be sold here at Incarnation after all worship services on February 19, February 26, and March 4. Pizza pick up will be Sunday, April 15. Camp WAPO (4th - 9th grade): July 8 - 13 IGNITE LearningThe week is packed with a variety of activities that are meant to impact kids for eternity. Each day includes Bible study, chapel, cabin activities, free time, field games, campfire.Camp WAPO registrations are available at the Information Center and must be turned in to the Incarnation Office. Fees and payments are due at time of registration Cost: $390.00. $100.00 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit is due with registration. Registration deadline for WAPO CAMPS is March 5, 2012 by 4:30 pm Incarnation Family Camp: July 26-29 Incarnation will be taking a group of interested families to Camp House (a camp run by Green Lake Bible Camp Ministries) located north of Two Harbors. Cost: $240 per adult and $120 per child. This cost covers programming, meals and lodging during your camp time. Children who are not yet in school are FREE! The Changing Face of Children & Youth Ministries at Incarnation IGNITE Pre-Confirmation is a learning opportunity for 6th graders that focuses on building relationships with other students as well as an adult leader. IGNITE Pre-Confirmation will use Grapple, a curriculum designed especially for pre-teens to help them connect life and the Bible. There will also be periodic large group FUN and Service events planned by Shawna Berg. IGNITE Pre-confirmation meets on Wednesday nights from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. An optional dinner is provided from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. for students or families that choose to participate (for more information on the dinner or to sign up please contact Shawna Berg at sberg@incarnationmn.org). All IGNITE Pre-Confirmation students should bring a pen/pencil and their Bible each week to class! When: Wednesdays during the school year; 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Registration Information for 2011-2012 IGNITE Pre-Confirmation IGNITE Confirmation is preparation for young people to publicly affirm the promises made at their baptism. This year IGNITE Confirmation includes Level 2 (7th grade) and Level 3 (8th grade). Students currently in IGNITE Confirmation will be confirmed in the fall of their 9th grade year. Beginning Fall 2012, IGNITE Confirmation will begin in 7th grade and continue through 9th grade. IGNITE Confirmation is based on a small group model with single gender groups lead by an adult "guide". Focus is on connecting, learning, and service. Beginning Fall 2011, IGNITE Confirmation will use a combination of Spark House Re:Form curriculum and curriculum developed in-house. ministry. In order to be responsible for the safety of kids and for
the protection of adult volunteers, in 2004 the Incarnation Council
implemented the Policy for Protecting Children and Youth.
For many volunteer positions in IGNITE Middle School Ministry,
including being a guide, substitute guide, or driver, adult volunteers
need to submit a completed background check form at least one week prior to volunteering. Background checks are valid for 3 years. |
