Connect with other men (ages 30-55) and talk about the DVD series, NOOMA, created Rob Bell. This new small group is a chance to explore faith topics, set in the context of life today. When: Once/month on Thurs., 7:00-9:00 p.m. Chop and combine ingredients to prepare a fresh soup in the Incarnation kitchen, while you connect with other people. Share lunch together, along with conversation, devotions, and prayer (led by the group leader). Recipes and ingredients are all provided. The group is easy-to-do with no advance preparation for members. This is a participation group, with everyone sharing in the meal preparation, but no cooking experience or expertise is needed. The group will meet for five Saturdays, starting in January. Cost: $20/person. When: Once/month on Sat., 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Knit or crochet a prayer shawl (or another item), while praying for the person who will receive the gift when it is completed. This small group weaves prayers of comfort and support into gifts to warm and uplift others. While knitting or crocheting, the group will connect, reflect on devotional readings and pray. Prayers are spoken for each completed project, before it is sent on to someone who needs care and support. This on-going group is eager to welcome new people. When: Once/month on Mon., 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Do you have a child in SPARK Wednesday or IGNITE Pre-Confirmation? Why simply sit and wait? This small group is a chance to use that break in time to connect with other parents and to connect with your faith. The group will get together from 6-7:00 p.m. for six gatherings in January, February, and April. The conversation will be guided by a short faith study called, Incarnation Connects, and a small group facilitator. No homework, no cost, easy-to-do, and schedule-friendly. The group is designed to follow the SPARK Wednesday schedule, but is open to parents with children of all ages. When: Twice/month on Wed., 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Are you looking for something completely new and different? This small group is a chance to learn about rockets – up to 20 lbs and flying to 20,000 feet! The group will learn the technical aspects, build several rockets, and take part in a group rocket launch. It’s a chance to connect with others while doing something fun! Meetings are once/month in Shoreview. There is also the option to travel to a rocket launch once/month. The group will also use Incarnation Connects, a series of devotions created for activity-based groups. Jump in and take off! Cost: Rocket supplies, estimated at $35 (added costs are optional, based on individual interests). When: Once or twice/month on Sat., 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
