The parent co-op nursery is for infants and toddlers up to three years old. If your child is three years old on September 1, you may use the nursery until the following year. There are occasions when child care is offered for children older than three years old. Children who are older than three will be cared for in the nursery area designated with toys and activities appropriate for that age group. Children older than three may not stay on the 3-and-under side of the nursery for insurance and safety reasons.
• Our ratio of caregiver to children is 1:6 for children ages 12-36 months and 1:4 for children under the age of 12 months.
• The Incarnation nursery is equipped with a paging system. When you sign your child in, you will be given a pager. You will be paged in the event of a dirty diaper or if your child is inconsolable. As a security measure, your child will only be returned to someone with a matching pager number.
• Please do not leave your child in the nursery if he or she is not feeling well. Your child will not have a good time and we work hard to keep germs to a minimum.
• The nursery is a parent co-op nursery. We ask that you volunteer in the nursery a minimum of three times a year. Sign-up sheets are located on the bulletin board in the nursery.
• To help the nursery staff plan for appropriate staffing, and to know the needs of the children in the nursery all parents are asked to register their children for the nursery the first time their children come to the nursery each year. Once you have filled out the registration form, it will only be necessary to sign your child in each time you bring your child to the nursery.
