Endowment Fund

What is the Endowment Fund?
The Endowment Fund provides additional resources apart from regular giving for the enhancement of the mission and vision of Incarnation Lutheran Church. The special feature of this fund is that the contributions are never spent; only the invested earnings are used each year. A contribution to the Incarnation Endowment Fund is a gift that keeps giving every year to complement Incarnation’s ministries.

How is the money from the Endowment Fund used at Incarnation?
Endowment Fund contributions will never be used for operating expenses or mortgage support. The proceeds from Endowment Fund investments will be used to enhance the mission and vision of Incarnation over and above ongoing programs. The fund will support Incarnation’s mission to:

  • Connect – providing resources that connect the present and future generations
  • Grow – training leaders for tomorrow’s church
  • Serve – supporting Incarnation’s mission efforts
  • Invite – supporting Incarnation’s welcoming environment
Please watch for Endowment Fund newsletters to see how your gifts are working.

How can I support Incarnation through Endowment gifts?
Gifts can be current contributions of deferred gifts. Appropriate gifts include cash, securities, life insurance, real estate, or designation as a beneficiary.

Cash Gifts in any amount can become a significant economic force over time. Cash gifts can originate from memorials, special events, or year-end tax planning. Cash gifts can be renewable each year. Please specify “Endowment Fund” on cash contributions intended for this purpose.

Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds would make ideal gifts to the Endowment Fund. Stock may be transferred outright during an individual’s lifetime or by naming the fund as a beneficiary, or as a revocable or irrevocable living trust.

Existing or New Life Insurance and Annuities may be used as gifts to the Endowment Fund by changing your beneficiary, assigning your dividend, or creating a legacy with a new policy.

Wills and Bequests are an easy and meaningful way to witness your appreciation for what the Incarnation faith community has meant to your spiritual life and growth.

Is there a minimum gift amount?
Contributions of any amount are welcomed. Remember that even small contributions will continue working forever.

How does the Endowment Fund relate to the Annual Pledge and Memorials Program?
Plans are fully compatible and should not be considered competitive. The Endowment Fund is another avenue to enhance the ministry of Incarnation, providing support to the current and future generations of members of this faith community.
