About Incarnation
Incarnation Lutheran Church, an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) congregation in the Saint Paul Area Synod, was formed by the consolidation of two area Lutheran churches in 1962.

The name Incarnation means "God in person or in the flesh" and speaks to the reality of Jesus coming to live among us, fully human and fully divine. The name was inspired by the following passage from John 1:14 - "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth."

Mission, Vision, & Values

Our mission, vision, and values draw us forward into the future that we believe God is calling us to and holds us accountable to how we want to be as a body of Christ in action.

Values
Grace Alone is the core of who we are as a congregation centered in a Lutheran understanding of the Christian faith. We believe that God's life-giving, saving grace is offered freely in Jesus Christ. We are grounded in the Bible as God's inspired, living Word, understanding in a non-literal way. We are called by the Holy Spirit to faith through this Good News, and empowered and sent to share and live out God's grace in daily life.

Gathering in Worship is central to our faith and life. We desire to reach out to people through corporate worship which invites participation and engages life today in powerful ways. Celebration of Word and Sacrament is thoughtfully combined with other elements of worship to create inspiring and meaningful worship experiences. Multiple worship times and diversity of expression in music liturgy, message and media provide choices to meet varying needs.

Prayer is an expression of our relationship with God and is woven into the fabric of life at Incarnation. We pray individually and together as a faith community, interacting with God as partners in ministry, and seeking God's heart and will.

Relationships are at the heart of our ministry and reflect God's relationship with God's creation. We are a Christian community that connects people of all ages with God and with one another, in informal and intentional ways, such as small groups, across all aspects of our ministry.

Learning is essential to a dynamic and deepening faith. A growing understanding of the life graciously given in Jesus Christ illuminates our daily walk. A wide range of learning opportunities and styles for every age and at every level is offered as part of a life-long path of growth.

Service to others in the name of Jesus is our response to his life-giving ministry. We are each uniquely gifted for ministry and seek opportunities to share ourselves, our resources, our faith, and the love of Christ with variety of people.

Witnessing and sharing the Good News with those we encounter is a command of Jesus Christ. We believe faith in Jesus transforms lives and frees people from sin. We therefore actively seek and reach out to those in the community and beyond, to share this Good News of God's redemptive love in Jesus Christ.

All People Are Welcome at Incarnation. We believe God welcomes each of us in life-giving, forgiving love through Jesus Christ.

You are invited to partner with the people of Incarnation as we seek to live out our mission, vision, and values. Explore the ministries of Incarnation for current opportunities.
